The imposing 19th century, grade II listed building of St Leonard’s Church, with many of its original features, has lain empty for over five years.
While the external structure, although in need of some cosmetic attention, is still sound, the internal space will require complete renovation and remodelling to meet the standards required for 21st century tenure.
The process will need a huge amount of planning (and money!) before we can move in.
Financial plans are already in place to cover the costs of the fundamental groundwork and we are currently submitting funding bids to various organisations, including the Heritage Lottery Fund, to more accurately determine the level of finish we can realistically hope to achieve. If you’d like to support us, or become involved in the project, please do get in touch.
Newton’s Place is an ambitious venture, but we’re aiming high, because we know the town deserves the best.
